No audio/video after joining "Online Meeting link" placed by someone else.

Hi All,

Hopefully you can help me!

The situation is like this:

A secretary want to place a " Online meeting link " for someone else. She does that in the calender of the person. She have Delegate acces + full mailbox rights in the Active directory.

But when users join the online meeting they wont have audio or video.

She and the other user have the standard version of Lync 2010.

What I have tried is:

- reaplied the rights ( delegate access - AD rights ) ( didn't work )

- Reinstall  Lync 2010 client ( didn't work )

- Went to dialin.domain.com and resetted the link on both sides. ( didn't work )

Do you guys/girls have any suggestions?

Unfortunatly I do not have acces to the Lync 2010 server.

Thanks in advance!!

Kind regards,

Tahir

Hi, this has nothing to do with the rights of the user.

So the secretary has get the delegate rights from the original user in Outlook and you can see the Delegation on the Lync Client?

You have deployed enterprise voice?

If the user connects normal to a Meeting with meet now voice is working?

You can start also a trace on the lync Client to see why Audio is not working.

Hi,

You can start a normal meeting instead of delegation meeting to see if the audio/video works properly. If not, the issue may be related to conferencing policy. You may consult your Lync admin for further confirmation. Here is blog that explains how to control Call Video available.

Hi Holger

Thanks for replying and a Happy new year!!

Here are the answers for your questions:

" So the secretary has get the delegate rights from the original user in Outlook and you can see the Delegation on the Lync Client? "

We can see the delegation in the client.

" You have deployed enterprise voice? "

Like I said she have the standard version of Lync but does it really matters that she must have enterprise voice? I could try it out of course.

" If the user connects normal to a Meeting with meet now voice is working? "

Yup it works fine.

" You can start also a trace on the lync Client to see why Audio is not working. "

If you could tell me how to do it I would really like to try it out.Regards,

Tahir

Same to you and a very good start in 2014!!

With enterprise voice, your are able to configure delegates also through the Lync Client.

For tracing activate the trace on the Lync client.

You will find the trace here

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\Tracing

http://communicationsknowledge.blogspot.de/2013/10/enable-logging-on-lync-2013-client.html

Install the Lync Reskit on the FE and take use the snooper.exe to analyze the trace for some errors

You can also start the Logging on the frontend to see whats going on
